Three years ago, I switched from using opioids to cannabis to help with my long-lasting pain, which I’ve had for over 14 years.

I noticed that a lot of people with chronic pain were getting less pain medicine. So, I wanted to share my experience with cannabis to help others. (Buying it from a store that sells it can cost a lot of money.) I wrote about my journey, shared videos on YouTube, and posted on Instagram.

But now, I feel like I’m losing touch with what’s real. Is this what it feels like to be “high”?

Because of the THC

I think this feeling is because of the THC in cannabis? I usually think deeply about things and am pretty sharp.

I’ve tried different ways of using cannabis, like vaping and eating it. I’ve tried Indica, Sativa, and mixes of both. But I’m starting to feel like I’m losing my mind. Here are some thoughts I’ve had. Please let me know if these are normal for THC, or if I should get help lol:

I can’t stop thinking about measurements! Everything is about measuring – time, the world, oceans, old cultures, how fast something is, life, and death. I’m questioning everything I thought I knew, even big concepts like God, death, and how to live life. I even read that some people think Mother Theresa made people stay poor on purpose because she had a mental illness, like making someone else sick to get attention. I used to watch a show about ancient aliens for fun. Now, people are starting to believe it more. What if there really are smarter beings out there? Scientists keep finding tinier things. Will we ever find the smallest thing? And space keeps getting bigger in our understanding. How can it never end? And if there’s no end to how small or big things can be, what does that mean for everything? Local news seems to have disappeared. It’s all about global news now. Where did local stories go? And the news about politics. Everything feels flipped upside down! I had to stop watching “The Handmaid’s Tale” because it felt too much like it could really happen. I stopped watching “Westworld” too. The idea of using AI for fun in 25 years felt too real, just like the show.

May Switch To CBD

I think I am going to switch to CBD or Hemp! Will start looking for a good company after I do some research!

  • Chose This Brand For My Pain & Anxiety

CBD can be an effective treatment for anxiety. It reduces physiological symptoms associated with anxiety such as increased heart rate while also helping prevent further episodes.

CBD may help alleviate pain and inflammation associated with arthritis. One study demonstrated how CBD significantly reduced osteoarthritis progression among rats.

    Cannabidiol (CBD) is a cannabinoid

Have you been shopping in your local drugstore recently and noticed products containing CBD? CBD, or cannabidiol, is an all-natural phytocannabinoid found in cannabis/hemp plants with over 85 identified cannabinoids; unlike them however, CBD does not contain tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and has shown analgesic, anticonvulsant, muscle relaxant, anxiety reducing, neuroprotective properties.

I have been using Quiet Monks CBD tinctures and CBD hemp creams. They are broad spectrum so I am not worried about dealing with THC. Everyone who reads my blog knows that I am a recovering addict so I really don’t want any THC!

Receptors in the body’s endocannabinoid system that respond to cannabinoids bind with CB1 and CB2 cannabinoid receptors to control physiological responses such as pain, memory, and appetite regulation. Furthermore, vanilloid receptors bind as well, activating 5-HT1A serotonergic, TRPV1-2 vanilloid, inhibitory glycine receptors as well as uptaking anandamide.

CBD’s most compelling scientific evidence lies with seizure disorders like Dravet syndrome and Lennox-Gastaut syndrome. A specific prescription product called Epidolinex by GW Pharmaceuticals was approved by the FDA to treat this condition in children who do not respond to other medications; while CBD has also proven useful in decreasing seizures for certain children suffering from other childhood epilepsy syndromes.

It interacts with the brain’s cannabinoid receptors

CBD interacts with multiple receptors in the brain in order to produce its anti-anxiety effects, including G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) and ion channels. CBD specifically binds with 5-HT1a serotonin receptor, which has been implicated in anxiety, pain perception, appetite regulation and sleep regulation; additionally it serves as a modulator of TRPV1 receptor which mediates pain perception as well temperature perception.

CBD acts as an allosteric receptor modulator, meaning that it changes how receptors transmit signals by altering their shape. Studies have demonstrated how CBD interacts with GABA-A receptors to amplify their main endogenous agonist, Gamma Aminobutyric Acid (GABA). This amplification causes anxiety reduction similar to Valium’s relaxing effects.

Researchers using pharmacological MRI have noticed that CBD reduces functional coupling between major brain regions like hindbrain regions, prefrontal cortex, thalamus and amygdala. This phenomenon can be explained by CBD’s ability to raise endocannabinoid levels by blocking anandamide reuptake and breakdown, thus increasing endocannabinoid levels – anandamide is essential in controlling blood flow, heart rate regulation as well as informing our inflammatory responses against infections like cancers.

    It has antipsychotic effects

CBD has been shown to possess antipsychotic effects in multiple studies. One such trial compared CBD with amisulpride as an antipsychotic and found both were equally effective but with significantly fewer side effects. Furthermore, CBD also exhibits anxiolytic properties; one double-blind study comparing it with ipsapirone and diazepam showed all three drugs attenuating anxiety in healthy volunteers.

Traditional antipsychotics work by blocking certain neurotransmitters – noradrenaline, acetylcholine and serotonin – believed to contribute to psychotic symptoms. Conversely, CBD seems to function as a negative allosteric modulator of CB1 and CB2 receptors by restricting their response to endogenous ligands that act upon them.

This research could open the way to an innovative new form of treatment for psychosis patients. The Wellcome Trust recently awarded Oxford University with a multi-million grant to investigate whether CBD could prevent psychosis onset among those at higher risk, testing 1,000 people using various clinical, digital cognitive neuroimaging and neuroimaging techniques to identify biomarkers indicating who may respond best to CBD.

It can be used to treat anxiety

CBD, or Cannabidiol, is an all-natural solution for relieving anxiety. It acts on over 65 receptors in the brain to influence serotonin production; research has indicated its antidepressant and stress reducing properties; however more investigation must be completed to fully comprehend how CBD treats anxiety.

CBD may also be combined with other medications; however, it’s best to speak to your physician first before trying any new supplements or medicines containing CBD. Furthermore, be honest when communicating your use of the substance to them.

Study results with young people diagnosed with anxiety showed that taking small doses of CBD nearly halves symptoms. CBD products such as tinctures, gummies, lotions and patches contain this compound that should be third-party tested and provide certificates of analysis; products containing THC may cause psychoactive side effects which should also not be combined with antidepressant medicines or other sedatives/anxiolytics.

  • Through the Narrow Eye: Discovering Hidden Worlds with a Borescope Camera

There are certain things in life that call to us—not with thunderous clamor, but with a whisper. The quiet mystery behind a sealed wall. The story etched into the rusted interior of an old machine. The delicate secrets buried in the bones of a house. And if you, like me, are drawn to the hidden, the overlooked, the beautifully obscure… then let me tell you about the magic of the borescope inspection camera.

I first discovered it not in a workshop, but in a moment of curiosity. A tool, yes—but more than that, a portal.

The Eye That Sees Between the Lines

A borescope inspection camera is designed to explore the spaces we cannot—thin, flexible, and lit from within. It threads its way through pipes, engines, and crevices, capturing silent, shadowed corners with a lens that doesn’t just see—it reveals.

Holding one, I felt like a modern-day explorer with a lantern, peering into realms untouched by light or hand. What was once hidden becomes a quiet story unfolding—an unexpected crack in a foundation, a coiled wire half-swallowed by dust, a spiderweb glistening in a place no one thought to look.

It made me wonder—how many things in our lives go unnoticed, simply because we don’t have the right lens?

    Where It Belongs

Yes, this is a practical tool. Plumbers and HVAC techs use it. Mechanics rely on it. Inspectors swear by it. But in its core, I see it as something more.

    • In automotive repair, it’s the eye that sees into the soul of an engine.

    • In home maintenance, it becomes a truth-teller behind walls.

    • In craftsmanship, it honors the spaces where human hands cannot reach.

    • In discovery, it brings the unknown into focus.

Isn’t that what we’re all seeking? A deeper look into things. A way to understand what lies beneath, whether it’s a mechanical failure… or something far more human.

    Wonder in the Wires

    bathroom luxury bathroom white

I used the borescope to look behind my old bathroom vanity—not out of necessity, but curiosity. What I found wasn’t just a pipe (though, yes, it was leaking). I found an abandoned silver ring, a tiny snail shell, a patch of faded wallpaper painted with tiny moths.

That was the moment I realized: the world is not only what we see, but what we choose to search for.

    Moth to the Flame

Like the name of this blog—Moth Wave—I believe we are all drawn to illumination. To the flicker of light in the dark. The borescope, in its own quiet way, brings that light. It’s not flashy or loud. It doesn’t demand attention. But oh, the stories it can tell.

So, if you ever feel like exploring the unnoticed corners of your home—or your life—don’t overlook the tools that help you see beyond the surface. Sometimes, the most ordinary device can lead you to the most extraordinary revelations.

    Stay curious,
    – Moth

  • How Adding Jogging to Your Weekly Routine Will Benefit You

Jogging is an effective low to medium intensity workout, often undertaken without an organized training plan or race in mind. Running, on the other hand, provides more intense aerobic and anaerobic energy system training.

Jogging can help strengthen both body and mind. Here’s how.

    jogging fitness

    Improves Circulation in Your Body

Jogging (running at a pace between sprinting and walking) has been proven to improve circulation throughout your body and keep joints and discs flexible and healthy. Experts advise getting 150-210 minutes of moderate intensity aerobic exercise each week, starting out with 30 minute sessions of brisk walking before gradually progressing toward jogging or even running. Jogging may also help relieve symptoms of depression while acting as a mood-booster due to endorphin release while running.

Strengthens Muscles and Gives You a Nice But

Jogging will strengthen the muscles in both your legs and core. The repetitive contractions required to sustain a jogging pace cause muscle cells to increase their number of mitochondria – energy generators within cells – leading to an increase in muscle endurance and making jogging an easy activity to sustain for extended periods.

Jogging sessions generate increased blood flow that can also help to decrease inflammation from past workouts or injuries, known as active recovery, which can dramatically shorten recovery times from intense training sessions.

Note that your frequency of jogging should depend on your current fitness level and health goals, not daily as this may put undue strain on the lower body and lead to fatigue over time.

Reduces Stress – Which Means We Don’t Have To Strangle Knuckleheads

Jogging provides an ideal combination of vigorous quad-burning sprinting and leisurely strolling that meets cardio fitness goals. As low intensity, steady-state cardio (LISS), it can improve joint stability without taxing muscles to their limit like high intensity interval training might.

Jogging can help reduce stress and enhance sleep quality, leading to greater productivity throughout your day. Furthermore, adding jogging as part of your workout regimen releases endorphins which can boost mood and lift spirits – all benefits which contribute to enhanced productivity in general.

Before embarking on any fitness program, especially if it has been some time or you are overweight, always consult with a physician first. Start slowly, gradually increasing your activity until jogging every other day or participating in a couch-to-5K program is manageable for you. Get proper running shoes to protect your feet while consulting with trainers about core and balance training; when working out outside incorporate cross training such as cycling or yoga into the mix to add variety.

    Common Injuries from Jogging

If you decide to start running for fitness be sure to watch out for these common injuries:

    Improves Sleep

    sleeping

Jogging provides the ideal balance between stimulating your body and soothing your mind, elevating your heart rate without pushing it to exhaustion, and helping you sleep more soundly at night. Timing of workout is also key; early morning exercisers may find working out helps them sleep longer at night while later workouts might have adverse effects. Experimentation may help find what works for you best! Getting enough quality restful sleep each night can have tremendous health benefits – make time to find what best works for you today.

  • Do Microgreens Regrow After Harvest?

Yes, microgreens typically regrow after harvest but this depends on a number of factors including variety, growing conditions and harvesting process.

Regrowing requires having energy reserves within a plant’s seed or roots that provide energy reserves; unfortunately, once cut, they lose this ability and instead depend on soil for sustenance; consequently most cut microgreens do not regrow after being cut.

There are exceptions, however. Pea shoots and certain herbs like basil and mint tend to regrow successfully due to having larger seeds with greater energy reserves; additionally, their lower leaves remain active after being cut allowing photosynthesis (turning sunlight into food) to take place and produce microgreens that thrive again after harvest.

Microgreens do not typically recover after cutting, due to being harvested too early. Microgreens require at least one full set of leaves in order to photosynthesize and utilize all their stored nutrients – without them, microgreens cannot photosynthesize so will be unable to regenerate from a cut stem and leaf.

Once a microgreen has been cut, it becomes extremely vulnerable to fungal and other disease, especially those which thrive in damp environments. Fungus or pathogens may quickly take over and kill it off completely; even regrowth attempts might succeed but their quality might never match that of its initial harvest.

Finally, regeneration from cut seeds requires an enormous investment of energy and resources that could be better utilized growing new microgreens from fresh, healthy seeds.

Microgreens are easy to grow from seeds, making them the perfect solution for those without access to space or time for conventional farming or large gardens. Microgreens can be grown in shallow containers such as trays with lightweight soil medium or alternatives and harvested when just above the soil surface.

An effective microgreen harvest requires careful attention to both timing and technique. It is vital that growing medium is saturated with water before sowing seeds in high-light conditions, with any cutting done just above the growing medium line, so as not to damage roots or base of upper leaves. A sharp knife or scissors should be used for clean cuts that minimize damage while leaving as many healthy microgreens intact as possible for future plantings. Once harvested, all remaining roots and used growing medium should be placed into compost pile or worm bin for breakdown and recycling into fertilization programs or recycling programs for reuse elsewhere in soil enrichment efforts.
